My name is Maximiliano Cardenas and I’m an active Democrat. I've worked to get great Democrats elected such as a Texas State Representative as Campaign Manager, and a Houston City Council Member as Volunteer Director. I also served as Agenda Director at City Hall. I've worked on the City Budget, help implement policy, and facilitate aid to constituents & civic organizations throughout the City of Houston.
I am a member and former president of the Harris County Young Democrats. Our organization serves as a great life-line for political campaigns and has helped get many Democrats elected as well as setup relationships with democratic groups in many high schools and college campuses.
If chosen to be a SiTV correspondent, I will continue to do what I have done in the past, and that is to continue to raise awareness and encourage people to get involved in our democratic process. My reports will aim to better understand the DNC and increase young delegates involvement for the future

Once again I’m amazed in the amount of support you have given me…
Thank you for your support, votes, comments and everything else that was done in the last 43 days to help me be number one in votes and views.
I know that I went a little crazy with the messages in the last two days, but it was only to inform you of new developments that came to my attention. I am glad that all my true supporters followed all the rules and were respectful to the other participants in this contest.
Remember that the judges now have to review the entries in this contest and will submit their votes in the coming weeks. No matter what is decided I want to let everyone know that I am really touched by everyone’s comments and support. I’m glad to have friends and colleagues take time to vote for me everyday, even if we don’t keep in touch with each other (and in many cases don’t even live in the same state anymore).

Thank you to everyone who has been voting for me in this contest. I can’t believe this has turned into a national campaign! I am so happy to be getting support from all over the country. I’ve seen supporters on this comment page from California, Arizona, Nevada, Oklahoma, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida, D.C., and of course all my Texas friends (if I left out your state please list it on the comments page).
Everyone who has been supporting me in this contest knows that this opportunity isn’t about change, but about education and outreach. If I win I plan to not only inform everyone about what is going on in the convention but I plan to demonstrate to viewers what steps need to be taken to be a Delegate at the next Democratic National Convention.
I also plan on educating young people about going beyond the ballet boxes and illustrating how to voice their opinions beyond voting. I have the experience of getting the youth voting block to participate with the party and I hope to take my message to a national level. I know that if I get selected, we will not only encourage young voters to be active in their community but increase the number of youth delegates at the next Democratic National Convention.
We only have four more days to go! Please keep voting and I promise to make you proud.

I appreciate your apology. I KNOW that this is not a representation of you. There is no need to apologize for negative statements because I know that they are only distractions from what we are trying to do which is to represent the Latino community at this convention. I will never underestimate your leadership if you do not apologize to me for a statement made by an anonymous voter because I know that you are more than that. I would hope that you think the same of me. There have been a few students that have ruined it for all by saying hurtful remarks. If you had the chance to meet my amazing students you would understand why I care so passionately about them and I will say to anyone that all 156 of them are amazing in their own respect. I just returned from Puerto Rico where I was for over a week. They have the Primaries next Sunday...the Island is fired up. The end result should make the Dem Pressidental race even closer.

Also the Houston chapters of Veterans for Peace, Iraq Veterans Against the War, Military Families Speak Out, and CodePINK, are sponsoring a Memorial Day weekend observance to honor both military and civilian casualties from the ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. On Sunday, May 25th beginning at 10 am, we will be placing +4500 American flags throughout Hermann Park to represent those that we have lost in the conflicts in both Iraq and Afghanistan. The memorial, which includes a section devoted to veterans who have committed suicide since returning from the ongoing wars, will be on display through Tuesday, May 27th at Hermann Park along Fannin St. just west of the Sam Houston statue and Hermann Circle Drive. Come join HCYD for this very moving memorial.

btw, i was in texas campaigning... that Texas 2-Step is something else! I was happy to see so many people passionate about their candidate, but wow... it was a little bit scary to see people yelling at each other. we dont caucus in california... i'd never seen anything like it!
